Vintage -
Growing conditions displayed consistent temperatures with minimal disease pressure. With warm dry conditions fruit quality was excellent with yields similar to 2024. With favourable ripening conditions, fruit intensity and acidity remained balanced. The fruit comes from a single vineyard site and a single clone, Swinging Gate on West Tamar.
Winemaker’s Notes -
Fruit was picked on the 9th April and whole bunch pressed to stainless steel for settling overnight. The juice was then racked straight to 3 oak barrels, one new, and allowed to ferment naturally. Fermented to dryness, with 2 barrels stabilised with minimal SO2 while the 3rd barrel was left over winter to complete malolactic fermentation in spring. Racked out of barrel on 31/12/25, minimal filtering and sulfur added. Bottled on the 11/1/26. 826 bottles produced
Tasting Notes
(This is what I taste and smell and might not be what you perceive – which is absolutely fine!)
Clear, golden straw colour. Stonefruit, crisp citrus, charry oak with a fine acidity line. Slight reduction, oak spice, almond meal rounded out by great texture and balance.
